Method

  1. Combine condensed milk, cocoa powder and butter in a heavy-based non-stick saucepan over medium-low heat.

    About 5 min

  2. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula. Cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring the whole time, until the mixture thickens, pulls away from the sides and the bottom of the pan is visible when you drag the spoon. This is critical — do not undercook.

    About 14 min

  3. Pour the hot mixture into a lightly buttered shallow plate or dish. Cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for 1–2 hours until firm.

    About 14 min

  4. Grease your hands with butter. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the chilled mixture and roll between your palms into a smooth ball.

    About 14 min

  5. Roll each ball in chocolate sprinkles until completely coated. Place in small paper candy cups. Refrigerate until serving. Store in the fridge up to 5 days.
